Day #98
Monday,
August 21, 2000
The crew is now on Adams
Street, working their way west between Main and Balch
streets. Water is also now in the lines on Main Street down to
Adams.
The countdown has begun.
Once the block they are now working on is complete, there will be eight (8)
blocks to go. And while no one has specifically expressed the
feeling, all will be happy when the project is
complete.

Once
again the group is searching for buried lines. In this case it
is a combination of telephone gas line. Mike Peters is shown in
the trench using a shovel to locate the gas line, while James Haskins
operates the backhoe to remove the overburden. Steve Place and
Howard Fields look on.
The photo looks west on Adams
about one-half block away from Main Street.

Remember
the photos taken during the opening day celebration of the pipe in the
warehouse? (See April 3rd for photos.) Well, as of today,
this photo, taken from virtually the same spot as before, shows all that is left of the materials stash. On top of
counting off the blocks, the crew is also counting down the bundles of
remaining pipe.
