Telephone report from Vickie Stafford, Mayor, places progress thus far
at the southern-most point on Omio Road that the
city will supply water. In two days the team has been able
to lay 980 feet of pipe and set up 4 residential taps. The final
hydrant on Omio is being installed
today for clean-out purposes. The cross-over link with the
line coming east on Quy Street has also been completed.
Additionally, the crew has laid
line west from Howe Street on Adams over to Main Street. As
reported last week, the county was grinding up the asphalt on Main in
preparation for waterline construction. Once the crew finishes
with Omio, the barricades will be moved to Main.
Water now flows to almost all
of the homes located on Howe Street. The line has been pressure
tested and the chlorine levels are satisfactory according to KDHE
tests.
