Wednesday, May
10, 2000 The
crew is now focused on moving south from Patterson on Spenser Street
and the going is tedious. This street has a great number of
private residence taps plus the crew must work around a fiber optic
bundle located on Yates Street.
One of the discoveries
unearthed on Tuesday was a strange tap into the old system that would
have fed the old school building (no longer standing) at one
time. It was a two-inch pipe tee feeding four, 3/4-inch
lines. Everyone referred to the apparatus as "the
dinosaur" since the four lines looked like a large rib cage as it
was being uncovered and no one (even Carl Studer, long-time resident
and former Mayor) could remember it ever being
installed.
The project is now about 20%
complete.
